Author Topic: {UPDATE} Getting to SPG Gold Status Instantly (Read 10986 times)

For example someone told me yesterday how to get around the $75 United close in fee, (besides the 1 Dan mentioned at the BP seminar last year, I don't know maybe by the latest seminar he mentioned this new method) would it be discussed here, I'm giving it 2 weeks and it's gonna stop working.

Just called Amex and they transferred me to SPG and instantly gave me gold.
I asked for SPG Plat and they offered The Challenge.
Call took 10 min.

The Challenge: stay x amount of stays in y amount of time and they will upgrade to plat. Forgot exact details.
What kind of activity? Have 0 stays.
Whats pushback?
I have Amex Plat.

I took the challenge offer and called back a few days later to say that I was supposed to be gold now. They said it was a mistake but after a little nudging they transferred me to a rep who upgraded me instantly, after making it VERY clear that this is a once-in-a-lifetime deal due to the misunderstanding.

Any idea if I can get Platinum status with an upgrade to the Amex Platinum card or any other workaround?
