BTW i always wanted to get rid of my capital one card, which does nothing for me but the credit line of 500 was a third of my total credit so i didn't wanna do it, now that i got approved with over 12k credit, the capital one card is going...

WAIT!

If it's your first card (on any of your three reports) then it might be worth it to keep it active (just in case it falls off) since they base the age of your credit on the oldest card on your report.

12k credit line is nice too. Your score will jump because your utilization will go down a lot :)

Even after you close a card it stays around for quite a while.  If a card is only slightly older than another it shouldnt make a big difference in the short or long term.

I applied and got the card, and my statement shows the bonus miles sent to continental but they don't show up in my account, I did put my number in when I applied. Any ideas?
