I beg to differ, in my experience it arrives every year just not right after you apply starting at the beginning of second year and every year thereafter.

here is my experience: I signed up for cc last year(oct. 2009) and received the lounge passes this year(oct. 2010). I then cancelled that card and signed up for a new one at the end of nov. (btw the $50 credit posted three days after first purchase) and yesterday I received two more lounge passes!! I don't know if it was for the new card or the old cancelled one?!?

that's very strange, bc u already got the passes for the old card for that year, and the new card, well u didn't get passes for the old card before the first year was over, so why would u get for the new one...
do u think it help my chances if I call up and say ''where r my passes?'' (i just signed up a month ago)?

Got Denied. Called the number on the denial letter and they closed a different card and transferred the credit line to my new acct. Thanks for the advice!!

i didn't get the $50 credit. i called them, they said they'll review it and get back to me within the week.
with regards to the passes they said i should be receiving them in a few weeks. so i guess you do get passes for the first year as well.

I guess that explains my experience.

Are these passes worth anything if I'm not flying anywhere?

I called continental today, and between the hold music they were advertising the onepass card, and they said: get one free bag when booking your ticket with the card.
do they really not know their own rules?

I had a continental card 3 years ago. just applied for card again 3 weeks ago. received the card. spent $20.00. my statement shows 20 miles transferred to continental. does this mean i will not receive the bonus 30,000?

You should still get them. Just a little patience....

I applied for the 30K and got an email saying my miles were on the way. I then got a letter from chase saying I'm not getting the miles because I've participated in a similar CO promotion before. What's the best approach to take when fighting this? Do I need the wait the 6-8 weeks before I start fighting?

Did you open a new CO account before applying like you're supposed to?

I left it blank I believe, but I think they matched it to my existing account because the spending miles posted there. Am I out of luck?
