No, at the minimum you'd have to wait 30 days.

Well I got the first card, applied a second time within 30 days for the same card before I read your response and now they sent me a letter telling me they want to give me the maximum credit and therefore I should submit proof of income.

Any point in pursuing or will they shoot me down anyways because I'm within 30 days?

Exactly why you should open a new mileage number when applying for any Chase card.

I think they are able to see all your cards by your chase profile which goes by your ss #.  I was denied for the UA card because I previously got the bonus (years ago).

Of course they are but that has nothing to do with getting the bonus.
I've never been denied a Chase bonus when I open a new account.

So your saying that it is only tracked via mileage number? wouldn't they just see it from your ss#?

With chase it is tracked with mileage number not ss#. Continental lets multiple accounts however united never lets me open a second account

If you plan on closing the card anyway go ahead and close it first.

If you don't have too much credit, you're better off switching it to a different type of card (if they still offer that option).

Hi,
I recently applied for the chase continental onepass MC and I was not instantly approved just got a message that I will get a letter within 2 weeks with their decision.
What does that mean? I opened multiple CCs but not from chase  the last few months and have always been instantly approved, does that mean in other words a no? Did anyone here ever get a approved in such a letter?
Thanks

I called them up for status of application, they did not yet have more information, but said that they never instantly approve only by letter is that true?
Also, I believe that this doesnt belong in this thread, but am already posting, can I get myself into trouble by writing in the form a way bigger income than its actual?

My 1st year with continental cc was just up.
I was planning on opening a new cc with them. Should I open the new one first and then call to cancel the old one or vice versa?

Anybody have any opinions on this? Churning? Retention bonuses?

Sure.  The safest way to do it would be to create a new onepass account and apply with that new number and then merge the accounts later.  But you usually will get the miles again even if you don't do that.
As always YMMV, and use this link when applying to help support this site!

woohoo!!!! i signed up for the onepass card a week ago, and i called today and was told i was approved. This is my FIRST normal card i've ever been approved for!
i started off with a BofA student card, had that for a year, checked my credit score 2 weeks ago and it was 717, signed up for the OP card, and got approved, finally!

MazalTov!

If you know anyone with good credit and an AmEx, get added to their AmEx as an AU (with SSN), then you'll have an SPG of your own soon enough.
