I'm booking a car for our family Delta trip to LA and I'd like an SUV. Do I book a regular car for $24 banking on an upgrade or do I just shell out the $31 a day to be safe?

If you have no status anywhere, for,the extra $6 a day I would just book the SUV. If rent from national, they usually have small SUVs in the emerald aisle,but that's no guarantee.

I rent once every 5 years so no status... I'll splurge on the extra and know that I'll be happy.
