I can't believe the current state of affairs is good for the brand. If all I knew about DD was from DDFB I would NOT want to associate with it and would assume DDF is just more of the same...

I don't follow but after this thread came back alive I took/take a glance at it once in a while and receive confirmation.

That's a FB page. DDFB was originally set up as a group. If Dan closed it, he would lose all the followers. Odds are, if he started a page, that number of followers would probably build up quickly, but it would be starting from scratch.
