Yes, I know I am reviving an old thread, but there seems to be no other Cathay master thread.

Trying to book Cathay First but noticing that they are only releasing 1 seat even a year in advance. I need 2 seats. Is this a new thing?
They do release 2 F seats in advance. Hard to find, but far from impossible.

I've been searching on BA.com
Using CX miles will likely have a bit more availability.

You mean searching for availability from the CX website? Or booking with CX miles?

But I thought best way to book is with AA or Alaska, that's what I was planning on...

What are rates with Asia Miles? And CMIIW are they only a transfer partner of Citi?

ETA: I see now that MR and SPG also transfer to them.

Yes, but if you want to guarantee more seats earlier on, you would need CX miles. Close in you may find more for AA or AS.

I wouldn't say give up, but it's definitely frustrating. I was trying to book CX NYC-YVR in August, and it was quite frustrating to say the least, seeing no availability the whole month. It all depends on when your trying to book. That's the way it goes with miles.

something VERY odd is going on with CX availability. AA phone reps say they haven't been able to pull anything up all night. BA.com showing nothing, Qantas shows full availability in all cabins, Asiamiles loaded with availability...
any insight?

Lucky's post has to do with First class availability, high end hobo is talking about searching for CX in general.

Also, CX.com is down right now by me for maintenance.

Agreed though. Luckys post shows screen shots seeing CX on BA. I dont see CX on BA at all. +1 to high end hobo.

I heard from a very good source that the reason that CX is down is because they are preparing for all the inevitable traffic that will come from the TLV route announcement
