And then this happened yesterday:

"*Attention Buyers *

For the sake of "Kedushas Yom Tov", ***** takes great pride in the fact that we do absolutely NO business during Yom Tov, and Chol Hamoed.

With that, if anyone placed orders using last weeks ebay deal promo code below are the prices we are offering per item."

And then promptly offered 50¢ more for most items that everyone else bought for a different buying group.

Who cares who you bought it for? There’s no commitment and no tax exempt when buying on eBay....

I don't see the problem with the extra 50¢. But when I was reading that email I was like huh? You don't do business on chol hamoed but benefit from others doing business on chol hamoed?
This was a general question that I had on them. Nothing to do with their business. If it was a different buying group I'd have the same question.

i disagree. It’s one thing if you buy without specific attention for one of them but in this case it’s borderline stealing on their part

This case is a little bit different because this case USA was the only buying group who sent out a list of this item. so the reason you bought it was only because USA was willing to pay you for it you would have never bought it if not for USA and only USA posting about it. Afterwards his other group came and tried to poach it from the only group anyone bought it for. If there were a few groups who posted and then you bought it without deciding which group you will give it to you I understand but in a case where only one ask for it and later after you bought it different one asked for it you clearly only bought it for the one that asked for it before you bought it.

In any case you definitely didn't buy it for the group that sent out that message a few days later.

But now it gets a little more complicated because now you don't have a definite commitment.

Care to explain the logic, as to how there is any sort of commitment to a group when buying from eBay ?

Just because you click on some guys link to buy an item that doesn't bind you to sell to them. Heck, you can go and resell the item yourself. Them sending you the deal doesn't mean anything.

And when buying groups themselves fail to 100% honor their own commitment to the deals they send out, why should any buyer feel the need to....
