Any chance you can use credit from AMAZON MP3, AMAZON INSTANT VIDEO, KINDLE EDITIONS, & SOFTWARE/VIDEO GAMES for regular purchases? Any way to cash it out?

After much research, seems like there's NO way to cash it out. In fact, they want you to not even know you've got the credits so that they expire :)  Amazon has gotten tough, regarding CS. And most reps don't even know how to deal with promotional codes. It seems like it's a very confusing thing even to them.
