Since this thread is called Jetblue I thought I'd share a rumor going around that JetBlue is going to start charging for the 1st bag sometime next week. This pressure to charge is spreading to all airlines!

Anyone tried the KSML offerings on B6 Mint?  Have an upcoming flight, usually stick to vegetarian options since KSMLs sourced stateside are generally awfully bad, but in their case they post the menu and it actually sounds like fairly decent stuff:

does anyone know if there is a way to change flights without getting charged the $75 fee?

if they changed my time on my flights would that be enough to change the ticket to a different day 6 months later without paying the fee

I think most would agree Jet Blue is better for the same money. If you plan on travelling with a carry-on it's gonna be essentially the same money. Frontier charges $30 each way for a carry-on you get free with Jet Blue. Even if you checked the bag with Frontier instead to save $10 each way, it's still close enough that I'd opt for Jet Blue. If you're travelling super light, I can see Frontier being attractive.

Flying jetblue -9 of us. There are no "normal" seats on the plane 6 random middle seats at the back only option together is the even more for $55. What's the likely chance of my getting them to seat us somewhat together or is that a very bad chance to take.
It's a short flight but still not comfortable with the idea of my kids under 10 yrs sitting with random strangers.
Shell it out or wait and hope for the best?

I flew on jet blue with 3 kids and toddler (paid seat). We all had middle seats not next to each other. The flight attendants asked people to move and everybody refused (nobody wants a middle). So all my kids sat in middle seats by themselves (young) but on Jet blue there are no partitions so we were able to see them the whole time. The best part is that my toddler isn't allowed to be on a seat by himself, and they asked my wife to hold him. I refused because we bought him a ticket. So they couldn't take off for maybe 10 min.  The flight attendants were begging people to switch, they where bribing with free sandwiches etc. It was a mess

that's awesome! Kudos to you for holding your ground with the infant. How did they convince some to give us their seat?

Obviously this is unknowable, but I have so little experience booking flights, perhaps someone may have some thoughts, or at least a gut feeling. I will be flying MCO-NYC on feb 15, presidents day. Has jetblue historically offered deals on actual holidays, or are those always excluded? I'll wait for the next sale or two and risk point fares going up, on the chance I can get a deal, but if jetblue (or other airlines) rarely, if ever offer deals on holiday flights, then i may as well bite the bullet now.

...wow. perhaps I should just post in an amazon gold box DDMS post and ask dan to make a deal for me on presidents day.  :o
