They're great
Are you asking about the quality of the blade or the quality of the handle?
The handles are total garbage. They are always loose no matter what I do.
These famous Icel Shabbos Kodesh knives are phenomenal, far superior quality than your regular Icel knife.1 2 You can find them at your local Judaica or frum hardware store for cheaper.
I prefer Icel over Victoronix,
Didn't you one time post a video with a guy comparing the two?
Absolutely. We have these They re very good. The serrated one is much better than non serrated. And the unibody design is smart too
They are, until you try cutting sourdough. At which point one needs to move to something else.
So what do you use?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004LVIO3O/ref=cm_sw_r_wa_api_glt_fabc_CYX3ZJY5HHYF119KW7YF?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1I got this as a gift. It's great and I can easily recommend it to anyone eating sourdough.
It’s a Victorinox bread knife that can be had on Amazon any day for $30-40, with a sterling silver handle. It’s probably a decent bread knife, but I’m sure there are off brands that do the job just as well. The big thing is finding a place that sharpens blades (especially serrated blades) properly, or they’ll ruin an otherwise fine/beautiful Challah knife that could have been made to function like new by someone with the right equipment and skills.
Is it a big deal to sharpen a non serrated blade?
I have one I like, not used much, so wouldn't be loose, but my parents have for some time with no issues...maybe bring it back to where you got it?
