Hyatt The Blue (Doral/Miami Florida) trip report
« on: January 06, 2014, 08:02:12 PM »
I was there 3 weeks ago, and I must share my excellent experience with you folks.

The place is a resort mostly for golfers, and it's located next to the Trump resort in Doral, which is a famous Golf resort, and was recently bought by Trump, and they're renovating the place.

I will focus on the Hyatt property. Because Golf is not my thing, I didn't go there for that. I just went there because I read excellent reviews, and I was really impressed.

Drive from Miami is about 15 min. And is about 10 min. From MIA airport.

You enter the resort, pass the security booth, then you go to the first building which is a sales office (they sell apartments as well) and the hotel check-in desk. After checking in, we drove to our apartment. The entire hotel is 3 floor apartment condos, like 5-600 sf. It has a beautiful bedroom, beautiful large toilet/whirpool/shower room.

The layout of the hotel is great, every room has a door to the street, no need to go into a lobby. No problem with parking, and it's free (you park in front of the condo/suite).

Every condo/suite has its own porch, and the hotel looks like recently renovated, very nice.

Wifi is free.

Place is great if you visit Miami, but don't want to be "IN" Miami.

I hope this is enough information.

Yes, I think it's great. And was thinking a shabbaton there would be a hit.

Not sure about eiruv, how that would work or if there is a nearby shul.

Every room is like an apartment, no need to worry about children running around in the lobby or waking up neighbors.

Thanks for this review. I will actually be there later this month.  Did you stay in a regular room or a suite?

To my understanding all rooms are suites, no big difference. The only BIG room they offer is a huge up and down condo.

My room was huge, and it was suite-like. Had a separate living room, exactly like the photo on their site.

One more thing. Ask for a top floor room, beacsue we had kids on top of us, and they made some noise, but that was more in the evening than at night. I'm not sure how we heard the noise, because the room is fully carpeted.

Another bonus for aviation geeks, you see MIA landings. It's right in your nose when sitting on the porch.

This hotel has very reasonable rates and is only 15K points a night. Would love to know if there is actually a minyan in walking distance.

Do you think it would be comfortable for a family with a few kids

We stayed here two years and were also very impressed. Another good thing about the rooms is that they have a nice kitchen area with a full sized refrigerator, convection oven/microwave and lots of cabinets.

Regular suite has a king bed and a pull-out couch that is in a separate living area - can probably fit two adults and two kids in one room

Does anyone know about a shul close by? Will be staying there during the week but would prefer not to have to drive 20+ minutes for a Shachris minyan.
