Why is it that frum people have this irrational fear of Bentching? It ranks second only to the fear of being Fleishig...

Benching takes at least five minutes if you say every word. Since many people don't know it fully by heart, it requires obtaining a bencher (or smartphone app). Then, depending on how religious you are, it requires Mayim Achronim and donning a hat and jacket. If you are a male, and were sitting with two other males and having your meal kind of together, that requires making a Mezuman.

It's not an irrational fear. It's a process, and if you are in a particular rush, it's also time consuming.

If you are on an airplane and did not wash beforehand... well let's not even go there.

Every frum guy I know hates washing and getting fleishig.

That's definitely not a few parents picking the wrong methods, this seems to be a universal problem among non Reform Jews.

It's time to have a think tank figuring out the reason behind it and brainstorming ideas to solve it.

This can't continue for much longer.

Getting Fleishig places a six-hour ban on consuming anything dairy. Essentially, it restricts what you can eat for an entire day. Ate a chicken wrap at 2:00? No coffee for the rest of the day. (REAL coffee that is. Go drink black coffee if you like, but it sucks.)

Yeah, but people overreact to it.

Yeah, but people overreact to it.

I disagree. Go tell a secular person that for medical reasons, if he consumes meat, it will be unsafe for him to eat dairy for six hours. I believe he may reconsider his morning bacon...

Reminds me of line I heard recently.

Two things a frum jews always wants to be: parve and gedavent.

Time to learn to bentch in 30 seconds.
I'm not kidding. I'm also not saying that it's appropriate.
Same with the 10 minutes Shachris.

Please don't make it a religious thing it's a question in halacha whether or not you need to wash mayim acharonim
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Huh?
According to R' Moshe Feinstein one need not wash mayim acharonim unless his hands are dirty because the other reason of a poison snake does not exist nowadays

Maybe it's due to commitment issues. In that case we can tie it into the shidduch crisis. I'm just thinking out loud here, but maybe if a guy would get a few grand for becoming fleishig....
