You heard Ivanka is no longer a Jew.
Converted to Islam?

who is a Jew is a very serious issue and many here will not take it as a joke.
It should be a serious issue and that is why it was hotly debated in another thread. Lets remember that is JS.

Doesn't seem like there was any קבלת עול מצוות.

Wasn't that other thread also in JS? I thought JS was reserved for religious discussions.

I happen to meet someone around 20 years ago that was converted by the same Rabbi that converted Ivanka and he also was not Mikabel Mitzvos. In my opinion Rabbi L was just interested in the payment he received.

Who told you so? Ms. Trump or Rabbi Lookstein? Or someone else who was there?

I am doing my best to not make this about any one religion. Many religions have their own laws/rules. My point is it does not matter if you or I feel someone broke those laws/rules or is not following them. In the end we have no say so in the matter.
But this IS about one religion. You are missing something fundamental about Judaism. It was set up by G-d in way that allows, and requires, human intervention. There are many areas of Jewish law that depend fully upon the actions, declarations and acknowledgements of human beings. Conversion is one of those areas.
If you don't care why would you comment?

Seems like she is very serious about Judiasm. And the parts she doesn't keep (tznius) her whole community doesn't keep. And I've heard that many (big time) poskim (IIRC Rav Moshe and Rav Elyashiv) hold that is enough for a geirus. (Because she doesn't know better, being that her whole community acts that way).

And it doesn't seem that it was sincere by judging her public conduct.

A. That would be disgusting to say that someone didn't do kapolas ol mitzvos just because someone else you know was converted by the same Rabbi and didn't do kapolas ol mitzvos.

B. To say that an orthodox Rabbi does conversions without KOM, is like saying an orthodox kashrus agency is giving a hechsher on may that wasn't shechted. There's no way someone can get away with that fit so many decades and I'd venture to say that's false.

Maybe he doesn't require KOM up to your standard. Are you knowledgeable of all the intricate halachos of giyur? What is considered KOM? I'm not, but I know some of them and that I don't know many of them.

PS. This is not at all addressed to you personally rather to all those giving opinions either way on someone else's personal life without even knowing the facts involved.

Sorry to go OT (or maybe back on topic), but can we add Wrigley Field DO to the list?

refer to my post above. many in her community are as religious as her, and that has halachic significance.

R Lookstein admits he doesn't think KOM is me'akev.
Do you know that his geiruses were just recently banned in Israel?

Thanks. I usually read what I type before I post. This time I forgot. The thrills of auto type.

R Lookstein admits he doesn't think KOM is me'akev.
That's what I'm hearing now. And I'll admit and take back some of what I said.

Do you know that his geiruses were just recently banned in Israel?
I'm well aware. That's a whole different story. My personal opinion on the Israeli rabbinical courts and the way it's been politicized is getting lower and lower, but because I lack a lot of inside knowledge on the matter, I try not to voice my opinion to loud.

And about that
Are any news outlets reputable? Some more, some less, but I wouldn't count on anything they say.
As the saying goes, believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see.
