old travel that didn't get mileage credit for travel ??

I have a friend that flew business paid flights (not mileage) in Nov/12 and end of Jan/13. He didn't  have a mileage acct is there any way he can credit if he opens an account now or is there any other option that he can credit somewhere else( Aegean prefers united) for these flights.

Does he still have his old boarding passes or ticket number?
Aegean gives you 12 months to claim miles so he may have missed the boat.
He doesn't have anything to lose by trying anyway, though...I definitely would
