I reserved a ticket on United (thru the workaround method) and it stated that the ticket is reserved until MIDNIGHT 2 days later. (Did not listen to Dan and didn't take screen shot, nor did i write down confirm number because it was saved under my reservations)
I went to purchase the ticket 2 days later at 9:00pm and it wasn't there anymore under my reservations and new ticket went up $$.
I called United and they stated sorry, the ticket expired at 5:00 pm, and besides your not really allowed to "reserve" tickets that way. I told them its not true it stated until MIDNIGHT and its not midnight, and if its not allowed to reserve that way they shouldn't let…and after Target Im not putting my Credit Card info on any website…lol.
I huca a few times but to no avail as it was past 5 PM. (connected to a united.com specialist, not reg agent. They were able to pull up my expired reservation based on last name and flight number)
While on hold, I went and reserved the same ticket at the higher fare and sure enough it let me reserve it until MIDNIGHT 2 days later. I told the agent to look at my new reservations, and sure enough she started arguing with me "Your not allowed to do it, its only for special circumstances" and its only until 5 PM also. I told her that I have a screen shot (the browser was still open)and it clearly states Midnight. After a 30 min hold she said her supervisor agreed to allow me to reinstate the 1st reservations and purchase it at the lower fee (it showed up I'm my acct, instantly.) However she will mark my account (whatever that means) that this will be a one time adjustment and in the future reserving has no guarantee…..what a load of crap!
Bottom line, power of HUCA is undeniable!
