AAdvantage combining accounts
« on: January 15, 2014, 05:26:14 PM »
I called AAdvantage about merging an AA account that has miles into another AA account that doesn't have miles and they gave me some spiel about it not being possible to merge accounts unless both of them have miles in them.

Has anyone heard of that rule before?

No, but it makes sense.... otherwise it would be an all too easy way to avoid miles epxiration for non-ctivity.
Is that your aim?

No.

How about opening a new account for my wife and transferring over all her miles into the new account,

OP of this thread claims he wasn't successful, was that an uninformed rep or is that the rule?

With UA you can do it online. Not sure what the story is with AA.
You can say what you think when you think what you say.
