Lost Vanilla Reloads
« on: January 16, 2014, 10:39:42 AM »
Sorry for starting a new thread...but I haven't seen this issue discussed in the past.
I bought 10 vanilla reloads ($500 each) a few days ago and loaded 4 on to my bb and paid my bill already with the $ from the 4.
The rest of the cards have either been stolen or misplaced. Cvs wouldn't refund me. Vanilla there's no one to talk to. I called chase which is the cc that was used for $4000 worth of the cards. And they said I can dispute it if I choose. Is there any drawback or repercussions for credit in future or financial review that that they might do or shut me down for making such a big dispute? Especially if I acknowledge that I purchased the cards just that they were lost?
Please advise thanks in advance

Were the reload cards physically stolen? Or did the PIN # simply indicate that someone had already cashed them out?

if it was purchased with AMEX, they have a lost / stolen policy that covers goods within a certain amount of time, which you are in...

I would call the cvs corporate office , explain--- they have a digital copy of your register receipt in the system , or maybe the store you bght from may have a copy OF  register tape --- you may also be covered under your home owners insurance --- think you need  to do some research on your own

think where you last saw them -- were they stolen or lost , to convince someone at store or corp office or insurance you first need to get your facts right

May not be worth submitting a homeowners claim - will depend on your deductible though...

Incomm should be able to help, if chase can't, they just don't want to. Call incomm, write what they tell you than go either to BBB or FDIC (or both) and complain. I've seen elsewhere that FDIC helped when MVD locked accounts and refused to refund money. But you should try at least to get copy of receipt from CVS

So you're saying I should try all of that before disputing?

:o

Dispute? That should be the last thing on the list.

In any case,  what makes you think you'll win the dispute?

CVS will provide chase with a reciept showing your signature.

As I already said in the other thread,  your first step is to go to cvs and get a copy of your receipt.
