I'm just starting to put together a theme from these kinds of posts.
You seem to seriously deride the fact that people enjoy the most pleasurable things in life: kids, vacations, etc.
And say that nobody can possibly really enjoy them, all that's possible is that they just like posting pictures on FB about [Insert: Kids, marriage, vacations, etc] but really it's just miserable.
Not everyone is that miserable. Life is challenging, sure. But that doesn't mean we're all getting by each day by faking it.
Ok. I'm happy to address these.
First of all there is no derision. If people enjoy showing off what they have, that is normal human behavior. The only issue I have with that FB feed bloated with show off pics is that showing off your good fortune hurts others which leads to 'Facebook depression' - a serious problem that I did NOT invent.
Second: I Never said that 'nobody can possibly enjoy things and that everyone is miserable, and the only thing possible is posting pics' please do not say that I said that, this is just taking my arguments to an extreme and then poking holes in them.
Third, all I said was that people clearly enjoy telling others about their vacations. C'mon how can you argue with that?
What is so sensitive about that? Did I touch a nerve? Is it such a bad thing to want to tell ppl about your vacation that no one wants to be accused of it? The only reason I mentioned it was to make the point that vacations may be less inherently fun if a portion of the fun is telling people about it.
