What kind of milk do you drink?

So I've started watching my weight and switched to skim milk for 1% milk.  I've noticed that the skim milk is bothering my stomach a lot more than than 1% or even whole milk does.

While I would have predicted the opposite effect, here is my theory to explain it: To make skim milk, the thick layer of fat is skimmed off the top, leaving only the fat free components of the milk.  However, because the fat is gone, each ounce of skim milk contains more "milk" (lactose?) making it harder on the  stomach. Any thoughts?

I've also been reading the health benefits of drinking whole milk, despite the high fat content.  I'm thinking of switching to whole.  Any thoughts?

I've never heard of anyone having those effects specifically.  I think I remember reading that there is the same amount of lactose in skim milk as there is in whole milk though I don't recall exactly. Either way if it's bothering your stomach I'd go back to 2%.   You can also try lactose free milk though it tends to be way too sweet for my taste.

look at the ingredients on "skim" or "fat free" vs the reg stuff. I cant speak for real milk but on Lactaid bottles, the skim has like 10 more crazy sounding ingredients than the reg one. Just a thought.

The best milk is the 1% IMO. Your body needs a little bit of fat to break down the food your eating and it tastes a whole lot better then skim milk.
