I need to track my workers to make sure they are the job site on time and stay there throughout the day.

What is the best app to track them that:

1. Works on iPhone and Android
2. Allows them to turn on/off the tracker
3. Shows me the history of where they were

Great idea never actually thought of that, it's going to kill the battery if they don't keep it plugged in the whole time.

Google has location history which you can turn on and off in location settings on Android, and you can view it online. You need access to the Google account that the phone is set up with.

If I were your employee, I would just get another cheap spare phone for every time I wanted to escape and enjoy, while leaving my smartphone at work...

I use Find Friend on iOS and find it very effective. It does allow the user to turn it off and doesn't keep a log so probably won't work well for you.

The work is a different job sites, each site is only a few days of work. The workers are part of a crew they are all needed so his absence will be noticed.
