Has anyone here had any experience using an aeropress?
Yes. Use it almost every day.
Makes fantastic coffee and very easy to clean.

+1. Be careful not to add too much water or your coffee will be bitter.
BTW they use them in the French Press as well sometimes.

Pushing the plunger through all the way or using water that is too hot extracts bitterness, not too much water.

2 problems with being a coffee snob.

#1 shabbat in the winter, but i dont see why you cant use grinds in a mechanism that would avoid borer ? I just generally cook coffee before shabbat, put it in a pitcher in fridge and drink it cold.
#2 shabbat traveling, I used to do #1 but put coffee in travel mug,  but after I passed 25 I got lazy..

Lets talk coffee, coffee actually is a lot like wine,  if you like sweet wine you're nuts, if you like sweet coffee its a a cause for concern, however I drink my coffee sweet using natural brown turbiando or similar sugar's, I brew my coffee very strong to a crispy not bitter flavor, at this time I use a capresso grinder and a french press, both have been with me for 5 year l'orech yamim v'shanim tovos although i'm looking to step up my game.

I used a peculator but it was too much of a hassle / time consuming and I cant actually do ANYTHING coherent before coffee, I cant even say brachos right often repeating paragraph's in a mumbled daze.

French press dudes and dudetes is awesome, there are other great ways to brew and enjoy coffee, but unlike wine I have no time or patience in the morning.

I have given serious consideration to swapping my beverage intake with wine being consumed in the morning and coffee in the evening.. i'll let you know how that goes

what about bishul

How is it bishul when tea bags are not ? We could develope the coffee crockpot that slow brews you're coffee, but you'd have only the options of:

Netz
Litvak
Chasid
Chabad
Friends of lubavitch = 10:30 coffee

Help me understand you.
You drink instant 'coffee' and you are looking to find WHAT?

Real coffee tastes like real coffee. Instant is for yeshiva coffee rooms.
Buy a real coffee maker and you'll get real coffee.
Steer clear of Keurig and Starbucks.
Keurig is convenient, but the quality of the coffee is not great. (and yes some are better than others)
Starbucks is a very lucrative scam, IMHO.
I personally use a french press and it makes pretty much the best coffee I've ever tasted. (Bested only by The French Press in Lakewood. They make GREAT coffee.)
JM2C.
I agree with you to a certain extent, I am a huge Starbucks guy, only because I find that beside roasting your own beans, there is really not much out there that is better, you seem to have found something. I would love to hear.
as far as k cups go, the only coffee worth getting is barista prima (unless there's something out there that I never heard of)
using a French press to make your coffee dosnt mean that you are using high quality beans.
I have never gotten coffee at the French press, and therefore can not comment on that quality

I use Folgers coffee bags. Not great but infinitely better than instant, which I simply cannot get down.  For shabbos I make do with this (I'm not a posek but no reason these should differ from tea bags). For Y"T I percolate using a melitta plastic cone (approved for Y"T by my LOR).
If you don't care why would you comment?

It doesn't quite have the same satisfaction as a hot cup of coffee when you wake up.
