2 problems with being a coffee snob.
#1 shabbat in the winter, but i dont see why you cant use grinds in a mechanism that would avoid borer ? I just generally cook coffee before shabbat, put it in a pitcher in fridge and drink it cold.
#2 shabbat traveling, I used to do #1 but put coffee in travel mug, but after I passed 25 I got lazy..
Lets talk coffee, coffee actually is a lot like wine, if you like sweet wine you're nuts, if you like sweet coffee its a a cause for concern, however I drink my coffee sweet using natural brown turbiando or similar sugar's, I brew my coffee very strong to a crispy not bitter flavor, at this time I use a capresso grinder and a french press, both have been with me for 5 year l'orech yamim v'shanim tovos although i'm looking to step up my game.
I used a peculator but it was too much of a hassle / time consuming and I cant actually do ANYTHING coherent before coffee, I cant even say brachos right often repeating paragraph's in a mumbled daze.
French press dudes and dudetes is awesome, there are other great ways to brew and enjoy coffee, but unlike wine I have no time or patience in the morning.
I have given serious consideration to swapping my beverage intake with wine being consumed in the morning and coffee in the evening.. i'll let you know how that goes
