Target return policy
« on: January 29, 2014, 12:03:31 PM »
I bought something from them, an expensive purchase, and after using it a few times, found a better product elsewhere for cheaper. It is within the allowable return period- does I stand a chance at returning it? I know they're not very good about returns so I don't want to waste my time if I don't stand a chance.

I've been reading reviews online and everyone says that target gave them such a hard time with open-box returns- even when the item they bought was defective.

Any ideas what I can say to make it more likely for them to accept the return?

Honestly I never returned a used item so it probably is different.

In my experience, they were tough about electronics- demanding a 15% restocking fee. That's why I never buy those items from target anymore. But if it's defective, you'll be fine. Buyers remorse? If you put up a fight they'll call a supervisor and probably let it go

Have never done a return in targer, but keep in mind that usually people are much more likely to run and write a review online after a bad experience.

I went down last night and they told me I can only return it online. I'm nervous about shipping it back because what if they don't want to accept it? At least in their store I know either way right away. If I ship and they don't accept I'll really lose money.

When I buy online, I prefer to return by shipping and not in store. They never send it back to you, because it costs them. Just keep a tracking number and if you don't get credited, dispute it with the credit card company.

Really? That's good to know. Can I dispute it if I bought it on my Target Red Card?

Never had that experience. They will probably take it back. Don't worry.
