They sent me an email on 2/18 that said:
Valued Staples Customer,
We are contacting you regarding your Staples order number xxxxxxxx. We have just learned that item number 68895, Dell B1265dfw Mono Laser All-in-One printer is on extended backorder. Dell has advised that your printer should be delivered between March 3rd and March 11th.
If you can accept this delay, there is no action needed on your part. If you cannot accept this delay, please call us at 1-800-333-3330 no later than Friday, February 21st. A Customer Service Representative will be happy to discuss these alternate options with you:
1) If you are interested in a substitute, Dell is offering to ship item number 956153 at the same price. This Dell printer has the same functionality except it is network compatible versus wireless. Therefore, you will also receive a $15 courtesy coupon to use on a future purchase.
2) If you are not interested in this substitute and cannot accept the extended delay of your original order, you have the option to cancel your order before it ships.
Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Sincerely,
Staples Customer Service
I didn't reply at all and it came today. Not sure why yours came early if it was "officially" back-ordered.
