95% of my Amazon Prime are shipped via USPS, and their service is תלוי בהרגש. Sometimes I have to go to Post Office to pick it up because the lazy mail lady doesn't want to go up one flight of stairs (or take the elevator!)

My Amazon order came 1 day late. I complained via chat, they offered to extend my prime by 1 month. I said that's not gonna cut it. They gave me $10 credit (on a $25 order).

That happened to me once on 2 separate orders. The first order, which was only 1 items, they gave me a $10 promo credit. I ended up returning the item. On the second one, it was 1 specific item out of an order of 5 or 6 that came late. The chat CS rep said he'd refund the purchase price (~$10). When I go to check the status, I see he refund the entire ~$100 order.

I still feel bad about that, but ultimately my Rov said it's taus akum, and because it's an online thing with a CS rep probably overseas, who won't know I'm Jewish anyway, there's likely no inyan of kiddush Hashem.

It looks like they are allowing one more renewal at the current rate and then he 2015 renewal will be the new price.

I'm not sure that was a mistake. Whenever a prime shipment is even one day late I call them. They either refund the order or add a month onto my prime subscription (sometimes both).

I guess it's YMMV because this is what my email said:

We are writing to provide you advance notice that the price of your Student Prime membership will be increasing in 2015. Your 2014 annual renewal will remain at the original price of $39. On September 28, 2015, your membership will renew at $49/year.
