Will do. Why don't they ever order enough? Are they available anywhere else in Lakewood?

Looks like they keep selling out. (Agree -- it's better to buy more and sell more.) Will ask the Lakewood distribution/salesperson. Once they taste that it's very good year-round perhaps they'll buy more. It's arriving too late for NPGS, where else would be a good location?

$3.99 at Ungers.
Seems to be the only option not made from chocolate liquor.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Yes, exactly. You can tell an obvious difference, right? And these are very fresh. Is another 5 brand taste-test needed or is this the clear winner?

did she ask the manager of Kosher West? Sounds like their order sold out. He'll know the exact re-order day of the week from the distributor.
Today they had them on the shelf. DW says they were 2 dollars less than Geffen at 3.29

fantastic. Great to hear, and they taste MUCH better than gefen. At $3.29, taste some (or taste on Shabbos) and let us know.  According to Dan:

The pesach chips are delicious!

I am sorry to show my am ha'aratzus but I have wondered for years.... what is the "chocolate liquor" that is in chocolate chips? It sounds like people on this thread have some hasagah in these inyanim, like Dan who says, "these chips are great. they're the only ones not made from chocolate liquor." That leads me to believe that chocolate liquor is to chocolate what high fructose corn syrup is to cane sugar.

But what is the chocolate liquor? Is it actual liquor? Does it have alcohol? Is it like Sabra?

And why is it a cheaper or easier alternative to real chocolate. A bottle of Sabra costs more than ten chocolate bars.

Please explain this to me. I know there are people here that UNDERSTAND this stuff. And please do not tell me to google it.

Thanks!

The best most efficient way is "Tasting is believing." for Shabbos party, set up 5 brands of chocolate chips:

Find a $5 bag of Paskesz, a $3.89 bag of Liebers/Gefen/Mishpacha, some of the 45% cocoa red bags for $2.99,
and then the 48% cocoa Calif. Gourmet ($3.29 in Lakewood) , and a $6 bag of Enjoy Life chunks if you really want to feel bad/waste money and place into unmarked bowls and taste what's better. Afterwards let us know your preferences of the the liquor chocolate vs. what taste of the 45-48% cacoa chocolate.

these are the Belgian style chocolates, so it's a higher quality and higher cocoa content at 48%. The Mishpacha often have a small fraction of that.
This article explains why Swiss is better for milk chocolate and Belgian is better for dark/Parve.  Did you taste the blue bags from Kosher West yet?

They are great and in a different league than the other frum brands. I think I like the red better but need to do a taste test.

definitely. Many preferred red since Shavuos; now lots of people like the new 'blue' even more. Some still prefer 'red'. Eating a lot of the 'blue' at once is like eating a good chocolate bar.
Pure chocolate. (but a bar only gives you 3 oz. when you pay $3 - $4 ea.)

What is chocolate liquor?
Why is its use considered a mark of inferiority? (Or is it?)

-1
Actually his specific question about liquor vs. cocoa was answered here: http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=37992.msg1102617#msg1102617
And, the reply of, "The best most efficient way is 'Tasting is believing'." answers how it affects taste for him -- as most like this Belgian chocolate much better than chocolate liquor products. He can see for himself.

The general consensus of hundreds of people is that they like this much better. In addition to be Kosher L'Pesach, and to cost less than KFP chocolate bars is an added bonus.

And:
What is chocolate liquor?
Why is its use considered a mark of inferiority? (Or is it?)
To answer this is partially based on personal opinion.
Once again -- taste testing is recommended to see one's personal taste/preferences. For logical answers, here's a start (tip: it's more about the cocoa content and actual cocoa bean roasting method than 'liquor'.)
