White gold polish
« on: January 31, 2014, 02:54:20 PM »
We have white gold candle sticks at home and every week they get very yellow.
Does anyone know how I would polish them?

Do they become yellow every week? It sounds like you do polish them now. What do you use?

Well in the beginning I just used to ripe it off with a towel and it worked but now it started leaving stains.
As per silver polish I did some research online and it seems like it's the worst thing to do

The way my jeweler explained it is that white gold is actually a bit yellowish, in order to make it look white they dip it in rhodium or something similar but after a while (especially if you polish often) the rhodium layer wears off and you have to redip it.

I happen to know that but this is not that is was getting a layer of yellowish powder on it and I would wipe it off but then it stopped coming off all the way
