So I have a flight tonight at 9:30. I see on AA Site that business has no available seats. And I see that the later flight at 11:35 has a 6 or 7 seats open.
As an exec. Plat member and already requested an upgrade, is it worth it to wait till the 2nd flight? What's the chances of getting upgraded?

Wait for a red-eye just for the chance to get a domestic upgrade?

Heck no.

Why is 11:30 more of a red-eye than 9:30?

Frankly, I'm not sure where my head was when I wrote that.

@cbs -- definitely wait. The more comfortable you can be on a red-eye, the better you'll be  ;D

+1
I'm anyways taking red eye. And I'd rather get in earlier in the morning but if it'll be a much more pleasant flight to wait for business (and I'd like a good flight Cuz ill be in ny for 24 hours then returning to LA - confirmed upgrade on return) then ill wait 2 more hours and get in at 8am

What are the chances if there's 6 seats open now

I just called aa and they said there's 2% availability at 9:30 and 25% legal at 11:30.
From your experience, if I change to later do i have a good chance?
Less of a chance if I wait till I get to airport or do I cut the line?

Its a 2 cabin plane. Biz class here is lie flat and the nicest current product on the transcon market.

You need to PUTPAC. They put you on a UA flight. So whatever shows up on UA they can book.
