Has anyone tried updating OTA to the new 4.4.4 update from verizon? Did it survive root?

Do you mean to ask if the root survives?

Anyone know how if there's a way to unlock an officially "unlocked" Tmobile S5 that was locked by Tmobile for being a "lost device".
FTR, it does work fine with AT&T, just won't work with any Tmobile MVNO, because the IMEI is "locked" by Tmobile.

TIA & GCT!

Correct, with the SuperSU option of surviving through ota upgrade.

When I end a call, the contact information of the person I was speaking to pops up. Is there a way to get rid of that and have it go to my home or last screen?

My NFC seems to turning off after a certain amount of time.
A lot of times when I start Softcard, I have to manually turn on NFC.

Any way to keep it on?

All of the sudden my phone will not recognize the charging cable that came with it.
Anyone else have similar experiences? Is it just an issue with the cable? Something with the phone?
The phone charges using a normal microusb, but much slower.

I would go straight to Samsung. Personally I've never had an experience with Samsung but when I had a small issue with my Apple product they made me send it in and I received a brand new replacement within a week!
Again, its worth a try, call Samsung and see what they say.

I have the verizon insurance, seems like an outrageous deductible. I really should cancel one of these days...

The deductible will be a lot less than buying new, no?

Of course, though if the deductible is $199, plus the insurance $10 a month...
