Whatever can be backed up
As I mentioned before the contacts, calendars, apps downloaded (not the data) should be synced with your Google account. Pictures, music, personal files etc., and What's App should be placed on the external sd card. Otherwise go through each app that you have important stuff (data) and see if there's an option to back it up to the sd card or to their own cloud storage through signing in etc.

What do you mean? Are you referring to the alarm? My phone didn't make any sounds on silent other than the alarm before the update(hence silent). Now they have priority interruptions you can set on all the sound modes.
My issue is still that I cannot set different vibration patterns for gmail, other email client, texts without the use of a 3rd party app. The issue with using the 3rd party app is that priority interruptions mode is not compatible.

in the process of a factory reset
it brought back all my texts from the past few months, but the contacts are linked to the texts
anyone know how to do that?
and even after factory reset, my phone doesnt make a noise when it goes off and phone is on silent. thats obviously not good
UPDATE:Just spoke to samsung-with the new update, there is no way to put phone on silent and have alarm go off. thats absurd

This is what I was saying. You can do it through priority interruptions, not silent mode.

Go into sounds and notifications> interruptions- you have all your options there.

Did you back up your contacts in Google? Do you have Verizon? Contact manager?
