Southwest Companion Pass
« on: February 04, 2014, 02:27:31 PM »
Hi Everyone,

I am looking to get Southwest companion pass.Currently I have 200K Ultimate Rewards points.
As far as I can understand from reading Dansdeals, I can transfer 200K ultimate rewards to 200K Hyatt points  and then transfer 200K Hyatt points to 120K Southwest. It should earn me companion pass since only 110K is needed.
Companion pass should be good until end of 2015
Please let me know if I understood correctly.

200K UR-> 200k Hyatt
200K Hyatt->120K Southwest

I am new here and would greatly appreciate if you can help me out.

why don't you sign up for southwest direct with two * 50k miles, you seem to be wasting a lot of good points...

You are correct but
you seem to be wasting a lot of good points...
Sign up for a SW consumer card for 50k points
Sign up for a SW business card for 50K points
Transfer the rest through Hyatt (or spend on the cards)
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

Thank you for your help. I am trying to figure out if I should spend 80K UR points from the transfer to get companion pass or should I get a credit cards and have a inquiry on my credit.

I'd choose the latter. But that depends on your details. When you last applied, what cards you have etc.

How long after 125k points post will the companion pass show up? Points posted today.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

I believe it is technically 21 business days but YMMV. People do see it within 5-10 days after.
