I drive for a yeshiva and get paid for it.
One time the guy whos my boss in the yeshiva asked me if I can drive him to beni brak as a favor and I agreed.
It ended up being me picking him up from his house, going to some place that had a cheep sale, waiting around for an hour on a street with no parking, helping load the entire car with yom tov products for 3 familys, driving around beni brak in erev chag traffic, and shleping very hevy packages of stuff up multiple flights of stairs in 2 diffrent buildings with no elevator.
At the end of the "favor" that took 5! hours he comes over to me, puts 50 sheck in my shirt pocket with a huge grin and says: Enjoy!
How long was he in the hospital after you knocked him out ?

Not so weird to give a small token of appreciation for the favor, and 50 Shek fits that bill (pun intended).

The "enjoy" is the issue IMO.

The problem is that he made it sound like it would take only an hour and only involve driving when instead it took five hours and involved a lot more then I agreed to do.
After all that he felt like the biggest tzadik in the world giving me a "free" 50 sheck.
Besides the only reason I helpd him in the first place was because hes my boss and I felt I had to.
