Topic Wiki

find the price of the hotel AFTER TAX, mark it down..

next multiply the points required per night x these rates..

SPG: $0.018
Hyatt: $0.015
Hilton: $0.005

If the numbers are close to even than it may be more worth it to  book with a specific CC that gives X times the points at hotels.

That would be about $220 in value...if I switch chase into Hyatt points. Is that worth it? Would I get an upgraded room for that price?

You can play up the wedding night and see if they upgrade you. Or you can do a diamond trial and use an upgrade then. Maybe you can get someone to book you a night from a diamond account.

Are there any $$ fees in addition to 15K a night in points? Would I gain if I had starpoints?

You can do Cash and Points for your stay.

Starpoints won't work at this location.

How much is cash and points? Is there any savings that way?
By having starpoints would I get another(nicer etc) hotel for a better rate(value)? TIA

Not the nicest hotel in the world. The rooms are very dated. But I believe that's your best option. There's a fairmont downtown which looks nice
Unless they redid it recently the Fairmont is really outdated.

Willing to book the Ritz hotel in Herzeliya with Marriott points, they are asking for 40,000 a night!

1. How much in $ is Marriott points worth?
2. They are asking 40K for the normal room and for the Superior and for even a bigger one what the size of the room is 65 Meter!!!  is it normal?
3. 40K is totaling all costs or it still comes to it taxes and surcharges?

Thanks, first time trying to book hotel with points

It always pays to send the email.
Either the manager will be in a good mood, or there was a last minute cancelation.
Or, they're completely booked.
Doesn't cost to try it.

Is it better to reserve first and then email our find out if they are willing first?
