Also when everything gets to the main page, people will be scared to share tips, tricks and good long running deals like this S&S / Shell deal here on the forum because it will just be killed out.
I only paid 15% by switching to dansdeals

This is what happened at FWF and FT.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

There is no easy answer here. It is a hard balancing act. Dan should get credit for trying to find the middle ground. 95% of everyone else just post everything.

Is that we're trying to become?

How about an op can request to keep his deal off the mainsite?

Though I guess it wouldnt apply to deals that are found on all the blogs and sites

We're not trying to knock Dan as he runs the site very smoothly and most deals are beneficial to everybody. We want to bring to his attention that such deals like this should not be posted in the future

+1
And/or keep it here for the first 2 hours and then if still alive, can post publicly..

However, if Dan's parnassa is by being paid by hits-per-hour, then the best deals and most hits will need to be posted within the first 2 hours of the deal on the MS.
So, he may need the MS to keep us/this all going....  (If we buy in moderation, all will stay alive, iy"H...)

Then he won't get a main site credit and to some that's more important then the deal staying alive! (The idea doesn't really make sense tho.)

The irony is the same people that complain when I post things that do earn me money...

Anyway why did no nobody pipe up by Pathmark gift card deal that was on the main site?  Was the precursor to see if these types of deals held interest for folks and many people got thousands of dollars of free groceries from that and expressed huge thanks to me for posting that.

Better if they didn't get that because they weren't in the loop?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Not happening. Especially when MS readers get involved.

And how fast did that get killed?

I think to comment In this thread you need at least 6 stars  ;).Truth is I totally agree with not everything being posted. It's dans site he can do what he wants but I myself know that I don't post certain deals bec I think it will end up on the main site and then be shutdown. I'm not saying I had that much to post but one scenario does come to mind. It ended up getting shut down anyways bec a lot of people did it even without making it to this site. That's not bec I'm greedy. It's because certain things don't/can't last if everybody does it.

No reason why any click to purchase deal shouldn't go public on the main site.
And my issue with the gas deal is  not that all my local stop and shops will be out of gift cards, it's all fair game. If I must I'll travel a bit.

But when people post deals like this on the forums they're posting it for like minded individuals to see and gain from. When these deals go to the main page where many inexperienced people see it, they tend to  misunderstand the intricacies of the deal and inevitably lead to its early demise.
Maybe let the main site readers come here and learn a bit before taking advantage of deals they don't understand.
Ultimately ddfers are a breed of their own separate from ddmsers and if ddfers don't feel like their interests are being protected they'll simply stop sharing deals.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I didn't post my trial and error experiences here,  so that it should be spoon-fed tov the masses and analysts killed.

I posted it here to share with others that are in the same page.

Don't worry,  there were negative effects to that too.

I think that has something to do with why people are so outraged this time around.

Only after that deal ended did we realize the damage it did.  Vihamaivin yavin.
