Evolve Money – Online billpay service

Pay bills from Evolve’s list of payees, including mortgage, utilities, insurance and “store” credit card, e.g., Macy’s, Gap, Walmart (but NOT regular credit cards or store co-branded CC, like a Walmart Discover or BR Visa).

If a particular biller is not listed, you can try emailing Evolve to add it. They seem to respond quite quickly to inquiries, and they will ask you to send a copy of your bill. Some people have had success in seeing their billers added. The billers need to agree to be a part of some kind of Mastercard processing consortium, which may or may not work for you billers.

Daily dollar limits include:

$2,999.00 in payments, of which up to $999.00 may be funded by cash load packs
Individual bill pay dollar limits include:

$2,999.00 for a single bill funded by a debit card and/or credit card
$999.00 for a single bill funded by a cash load pack
Note: You cannot make more than $10,000 worth of payments per month for credit, debit, and cash load packs.

Monthly payment limits include:

4 payments per month per biller account number using a credit or debit card within the dollar limits listed above.
Unlimited number of payments per month per biller account number using a cash load pack within the dollar limits listed above.

Check with your bank whether they accept partial payments and payments made over a couple of days. (Paying over weekend might arrive on same day.) You will also want to be in touch with your bank the first month you do this to make sure that the payments don't automatically apply to principal, or that your automatic payment (if you have one) doesn't ALSO get taken out. Don't assume that your bank will handle everything perfectly without your involvement, and - especially the first month - make sure you have all payments in with a few days to spare at least so that they can sort it out without also having to worry that the payment will be late.

You can pay bills for no fee with REloadIt packs that can be purchased, Evolve Money credits and with a debit card from "major banks". There are reports that US Bank issued MGCs work fee free as well. Each card counts as one payment toward the four payment limit.

For a 3% fee you can pay with a Visa, MC and Discover CCs.

In the past there was a glitch and certain CCs did work. But after this was publicized, the glitch was closed.

How
Sign up.
Add new bill.
Then pay with a ReLoadit packs, debit, prepaid(?) or Gift Card(?).

Overall, I see why Bluebird runs their business for free. I was happy to dive in full force with that one.

However, the evolve site looks and runs differently. Looks like it needs caution... Which company has created it and why are they doing this for free?

I agree that their site is quite shadily (is that a word?) designed, but:

1.  They are owned by precash, a reputable company.
2.  The information they have about me is account numbers of accounts that I owe money to, not accounts that contain any money, right?

not
So what's the point? If you buy GCs with a cc and use the GC to pay off, say a utility bill, you still have to pay off your cc bill!

From your bank account pay the utility bill so you can use that cash to pay the credit card bill. Are you sure that MS is for you?

How else can you pay your utility bill with cc? (albeit indirectly)

Um, yeah.  Isn't that the whole point of this?

so i need to remember each month on exactly two days before to set up the payments?

not so convenient IMHO

thanks -- was wondering who owned them. What's in it for them? Sounds like a lot of work and they receive no fees?

True, that they just have your acct. info of who you owe, but at any given time, they're holding $1k cash of 500,000 people?
Is this them?  (true not to judge just bec the BB site was built more professionally looking, but I do agree with you that 'shady' is a word that may apply to this link: http://www.precash.com/company_history.html

I think that looks OK.  One of their VPs did an interview. I won't link to it because it is on a different blog, but you can find it through Google.

ok - thanks for the info. it just seems slightly different than the other site.
Have they been around for a while, they're reputable? What's the point of this service on their end; how can they make money?

Anyone have experience paying a Chase mortgage?
+1.
how to make sure it doesnt go only to principal?

Answered above:
My chase mortgage was just confirmed. Made multiple payments on same day. When entire amount due was paid, it cleared. So this frees up funds on my bb to pay cc bills. I see myself doing 2k a month easily with mortgage, car payment and utilities and doesn't appear to be any risk of shutdown as long as you follow rules. They clearly allow prepaid debit and GC as their rep posted on another blog.
Since they have a daily 1k limit, if your mortgage is over that and you want your payments to arrive on the same day, either  pay from 2 evolve accounts (e.g. spouse), or pay over weekend so both payments would arrive on same business day.

Has anyone had experience paying a Wells Fargo mortgage using Evolve?

Thanks in advance.
You asked this a while back. My answer to you then:
I saw on FT that WF is very particular with payments being exact. Maybe call beforehand and see if they can notate on account that you will be doing multiple payments
Search FT's evolve thread for wells fargo mortgage and you'll find many relevant posts.

"Sovereign bank loan" is not going through for my Santander mortgage payment. Any other ideas?
