If he would want one- and I don't know why he would, I'm sure he could get a free booth in exchange for some PR and advertising

IMHO there is a market in advising small (micro) start-ups on how to utilize credit cards for initial capital and start up costs. (leveraging miles'npoints, obviously).  Many people have great business ideas and funding is hard to come about...
Credit cards are an option but it has to be done carefully. Many people have no idea how to get  cards, use cards, pick the right cards etc.

Not saying that this is for Dan, just thinking aloud.

But how would one turn a profit from advising these small businesses?

agree, probably wouldn't.
It could be a non profit service booth. After all, the expo is to help everyone. No? ;-)

I think there's a market for businesses to have someone on top of utilizing their spending through cards  and booking them cheap travel ..... certain businesses would have a lot to gain from such a person. It would obviously have to be cost effective but Iwould think that there are many ppl here on ddf who could bring a great service to a company and find employment. Between earning miles, savings on airfare, hotel stays, gas, etc. Im sure many businesses would be saving enough that is worth it for them to hire someone like this

So why is it doubling in size this year?

IMHO the prices are indeed prohibitive...

An anonymous donor will sponsor 40% off Parnassah Expo booths for up to 20 small businesses on a first come, first served basis. Booths must be booked and paid for by Thursday, 2/20 at 11:59 pm

Hmm, looks like they're looking to  fill booths but don't want to admit it. lol

Is there anyone going there to give business to people whose services they can use or is it only people looking to get business? There is no point in going just to have a bunch of unsuccessful salespeople nudging me to buy products I don't need at high prices.
