Advice - airfare vs. hotel stay

Hi. I am going to a conference in L.A. in July. I plan to take my 3 children along with me for approximately a week. I currently have around 60K Chase Ultimate Rewards points. The conference is in the Hyatt in Anaheim and I haven't really started looking into airfare, but wanted to know where I should use my points - to cover hotel stay or partial air fare.

Lets start with this..

What would the hotel be per night? Do you want to stay at the Hyatt or can you stay someplace nearby?

Also, how much is airfare per person?

I would like to stay in the Hyatt which is $139 a night. From early searches, it looks like flights range between $400-500.

You're probably better off using the points for flights depending on availability.

Better value to just pay for the night. If you can get availability for the flights then that would be your best bet.
