No איצגנינות (astrology), no one saying good, bad, do or don't do. Just a siman.
Seems like poor diyukim to me. The example in the mishnah is it's good or bad for planting. Saying it's going to be cold - means it's bad for certain things (like going outside or planting)
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

+1 they never canceled till like 7-8am. I think it might have to do with the busing companies cancelling on them earlier.

You people are crazy. Snow is cold and wet and stress inducing.
It's funny, I remember the first time it snowed in high school, the LA kids were the ones that went outside in wonderment. But I guess it wears off quick

Meh, snow is great as long as you're in a city that knows how to deal with it.

Bundle up, go sledding, snow tubing, skiing, tobogganing, snowman building...

This storm is nuts.....I just got an email from Optimum.

"With the coming storm all over the news, you're probably worried about potential power outages that could affect your internet, TV and phone service. Rest assured, we're already making preparations."

OK now.....

Easy for you to say. Every time there's a blizzard I stress about getting my employees to work. Part of the reality of working in healthcare, it doesn't shut down because of the weather

Hence the qualification:
Doesn't help while blizzard conditions are ongoing. If the snow has stopped I transport people to work myself even if roads aren't clear. And that still doesn't help for people whose kids are off and have no child care options

They've come up with a system to make driving in whiteout conditions safe? This I have to see
And schools never cancel there?

DW has a flight tomorrow morning 8:30 AM from PHL-CLE. Keep the flight or switch to a later flight?

Any suggestions/strategies?

Best strategy for a situation like this is keep original flight but buy anywhere that's refundable (priceline Amex etc) alternatives as insurance. That was the only way I got out during a storm. Bought a ticket on every airline. And the one that flew, I took. But can be costly. Once the flight is canceled its too late usually... May already be too late.
