Flight is not cancelled, but airplane is now in SWF for the night. (Tail#N629AE)
Flight leaves at 6:10 am for PHL. I guess we'll see if it takes off.

Both flights now showing on time.

Come to Beachwood, OH and watch how they deal with a blizzard.
Yawn.

Good to know that about becahwood.
1. Move to beachwood bc They're great at handling extreme snows
2. Move to Beachwood because they don't get that much snow (compared to snowbelt)

Out of curiosity, what's the largest storm recorded for beachwood/cleveland? Have you guys gotten 2+ feet recently?

PSA:

"All local and state roads in New York City and Long Island:

A travel ban will go into effect on all state and local roads at 2:30 p.m. until further notice in New York City and on Long Island. Only authorized emergency vehicles, hazard vehicles and critical healthcare personnel will be permitted on these roads.

New York City subways and buses:

The last inbound or outbound trains on above-ground lines will depart at 4:00 p.m. today. After 4:00 p.m., service on above-ground lines will be suspended until further notice. Service will thin out before 4:00 p.m., and some subway lines may be delayed or suspended on a case-by-case basis as conditions warrant, so commuters should not wait until 4:00 p.m. to head home. All local and express bus service remains suspended until further notice.

LIRR, Metro-North and Staten Island Railroad:

The last inbound or outbound trains will depart at 4:00 p.m. today. After 4:00 p.m., service will be suspended until further notice. Service will thin out before 4:00 p.m., and some rail services may be delayed or suspended on a case-by-case basis as conditions warrant, so commuters should not wait until 4:00 p.m. to head home."
#Fake news. Neither 311 or MTA websites have anything about this. Same with 880.

I don't know if it's just the wind or also the type of snow, but I have areas that are twice as high as what's fallen overall, but also parts of my lawn where I can see grass.

+1

Though not so much grass, but concrete sidewalk visible some places, while other are covered with more than a foot of snow. Same goes for cars (interestingly, could be different sides of the street of what's witnessed on sidewalks) where some are totally covered, and some have almost no snow on them at all (like my car right now).

My grass might have a foot of snow on it, but the kids are in school, the sidewalks are plowed by the city, my driveway is plowed, and the streets don't have a speck of snow on them thanks to nonstop plowing/salting and a parking ban which is just fine as everyone has an attached garage. Life continues as normal.

I forgot you get your driveway plowed. But in this case the drifts are keeping the cars clean  ;D

Do you have a will in place? Or are you relying on the one your state legislator created for you in its intestacy laws?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I love how a travel blogger (no offense) who knows nothing about meteorology is comparing a historic nor'easter that is anatomically stronger than many hurricanes to the clippers you get in Beachwood (though bH moving quickly and only brushing our area). Buffalo knows how to handle heavy snow. Beachwood doesn't.
