I love how a travel blogger (no offense) who knows nothing about meteorology is comparing a historic nor'easter that is anatomically stronger than many hurricanes to the clippers you get in Beachwood (though bH moving quickly and only brushing our area). Buffalo knows how to handle heavy snow. Beachwood doesn't.

Any good # to reach AA?  Also going in person to counter, but any good tel numbers. I cant wait over 2 hrs for the call back .
1.800.446.7834 goes straight through.
I actually went to the airport here to see what I could do, but the agent was seriously not interested in speaking to anyone other than the passenger. we ended up schmoozing, but he was a jerk about giving me any pax information, even though I had the confirmation# and paid for the tix (with avios). He probably would have helped if I got the pax on the phone, but at that point, I saw that things were looking poorly.

Ended up driving.

I've been through 3 foot snow storms in Beachwood and in Brooklyn.
Beachwood doesn't leave a snowflake unpunished, CLE remains open, etc. as they're prepared and equipped for it.
NYC shuts down for a week and breaks down into hysterics as all flights and transportation closes.
Don't need a BS in meteorology to know that.

But try finding a minyan for Shachris at 3pm, or Maariv at 3am...
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Can you even find the reverse in CLE? Shachris at 10am? Maariv at 10pm? Or an hour later on either of those?

Nobody lives in CLE for the restaurants or minyan factories.

And nobody lives there for the weather either, so let's get that out of the way.

Which 3ft beachwood snowstorm(s) are you referring to?

They've happened. Feel free to find a meteorologist that specializes in lake effect snow measurements.

Of course not. Beachwood just happens to deal with the harsh winters extremely well and the summers are among the most pleasant in the country.

Sure. I'd pick LA over Beachwood for the weather, if not for the issues that LA has. But I wouldn't pick Miami for the weather.

I thought beachwood is outside the lake effect belt...

And lake effect snowstorms are easier to deal with and less expansive than blizzards. '78 was a bit before your time, but that's generally considered the worst recent storm in OH and a lot of the midwest, and it definitely shut down cities for days.  Anyone here go through it (in midwest or NE)?

There's no official boundary, but I didn't think beachwood got nearly as much as areas 50+ miles northeast. How about you tell me a 3ft storm beachwood got. Because cleveland's never gotten 3 feet out of one storm since they began taking records. Of course the airport is in a less snowy location, but 3ft is much rarer of a snowfall than you may think. Drifts, maybe.

LOL, sure. I'll play along.

2" at CAK, 20" at CLE, 50"+ in the snow belt which includes Beachwood.
The records for CLE snow are utterly meaningless for lake effect snow.

You're talking about a 6 day event and comparing the response to 12-24 hour storms dumping similar amounts, lol,

The worst hit area in that storm (Hambden), which isn't close to you, had a max snowfall rate of 1-2" an hour during that storm. I believe during the boxing day storm parts of LI or CT had up to 6" an hour.
