I'm not enamored with winter at all.  I just despise MIA's summers even more.
LA's weather OTOH is nearly perfect.  But the ridiculous cost of living, smog, traffic, and general "hollywoodness" of the place make is less than ideal.

+1. Helco has some of the highest rates in the country, not to mention the cost of everyday goods. Granted that traffic outside of Honolulu is not too bad (actually I read that it has the worst in the country), but then again you're kind of in the middle of nowhere.

Housing and taxes are much less than LA.
Of course food would be way more, but the weather is 80 degrees all year round, the air is amazing, traffic on the outer islands not a major concern.
