Housing and taxes are much less than LA.

What's the food stamps situation there?
Love me or hate me. I still love you.

I think Ocean View is the perfect place to create a community. Tons of houses close together in a grid (like Boropark) at reasonable prices. And you'd have Maui/Kauai as a Chol Hamoed trip.

Eh, I think people moving to Hawaii would prefer not to feel like Boro Park and actually have some property.

Terrible idea.

- Ocean View is one of the least Hawaiian-looking (and feeling) places in Hawaii.
-There is a strong, never-ending wind present. Ask your wife if the wants her shaitel to look like the trees there, all branches pointing in the same direction :P
-Tons of houses close together? A: you could stay in Boro Park for that. B: I don't know which part of Ocean View you've seen, but I rented a house there and explored the area thoroughly. I didn't see even two houses within shouting distance. Not nearly close enough for a community.

Yes, I know I'm overthinking this ;D

why?
I'm following this avidly & there's a reason this discussion is in JS & not in GD.

Additionally if you do mean this seriously, I dont see how anyone besides for yourself can realistically make a living there (not oahu)

I was kidding about being like Boropark, mostly making the point that there is room there for a huge immigration of families (and where else in Hawaii is that true?). Are you being serious about Hawaiian look and feel? I get wanting to live in a place with an ideal climate and natural beauty, but the Hawaiian culture is not a draw to me.

Interesting about the wind, though you can probably turn your wife around 90 degrees every few hours so that her shaitel doesn't have to look like the trees.  ;D I guess that means shaitels will be allowed in the community is a given?
