Flying out in 2 weeks for 1 week (no Hawaiian non-stop from jfk on Wednesdays...ugh...Newark is too far)...

Then flying there again later in March with the family.

There are many articles about Alvin Wong the happiest man in the world because he is Aisain, lives in Hawaii and a religious (not really) Jew.

Guys - Been here a week now. I have no idea why everyone doesn't move out here. It is so beautiful, the weather is perfect, there's already a shul, there are jobs here (strong economy - unemployment is at 4%). There's even a little bit of Kosher - Costco has Empire chickens, The Liquor Collection and Whole Foods has some kosher wine, and the Safeway's have small kosher sections... Otherwise Yudi ships in food and sells prepared food and another guy runs hawaiisrael.com ...The only thing missing is Jewish education, which, if more people moved here, could be worked out.

Stop dreaming, book a one way ticket, and start packing. You only live once...

You don't think Jewish education would be tough if 10 families moved out there who all have different Jewish values?

I thought Shoeless Joe (Ray Liotta) is the one who comes.

It would def be a prob for some.
That being said I'd actually love a school diversified like that, with the core values being the same.
