Author Topic: Turkish Airlines expands their (already massive) lounge at IST (Read 16965 times)

This past Tuesday, Turkish Airlines unveiled a massive upgrade to their existing lounge. I was lucky enough to be there on opening day. I was gonna write up a whole description of all the added facilities, but it looks like Turkish has already done all the work for me.

So instead, I will just post pictures... I have to admit, this is the first time I was ever truly upset that my connection wasn't longer, so I'd have more time there. But then again, I've never been to Lufthansa's FCT, either.

1) Turkish-logo-shaped stairs leading down to the newly added lower level.
2) One of the two new elevators.
3) Part of the newer upstairs seating area.
4) More of #3.

5) The back of the second (glass) elevator.
6) Inside the globe-shaped staircase.
7) TV room downstairs.
8 ) "Restaurant" area downstairs.

9) Buffet area, downstairs. Kinda makes me wish I didn't have to keep kosher...

10) "Coffee garden".
11) Free massage tables (electronic). They also have human massage therapists going around giving free 10-15 minute back and shoulder massages.
12) Indoor virtual golf course.

13, 14) Remote control car racetrack around mini-Istanbul...
15) ...although apparently, they haven't worked all the bugs out quite yet.

16) Sony Playstations.

17) ANOTHER grand piano (I think they have like 3 or 4 in total by now).
18) More fresserei.
19) The "chefs" around yet more fresserei.
20) Bread wagon.

Not sure what you mean... this is the TK lounge, where you get in with *G.

My pleasure. Mind you, these are just of the expansion. There's a whole lot more to see and do in the pre-existing part of the lounge that I didn't even bother photographing (since it's already all over the web), such as the pool table, floor-to-ceiling library, movie room with business-class-seat-style lounge chairs, too many drink stations (both regular and alcoholic) to count, etc.

LOL! Make sure to bring your physical card, though, as they can be quite insistent about that.
