That's already factored, you still wind up with much less in NYC.
+1 and I wonder what the effective buying power would be in these respective cities given Jewish schools' tuition, neighborhood constraints and kosher food costs.

Not necessarily true.
I was surprised to see that kosher groceries in CLE were mostly less than in CH when I was there a few weeks ago.
I guess i am not the only one who compares prices when I back in tri state!!

There appears to be a general consensus that the best thing to do is to move.

I am definitely willing to do that if I can ascertain that all the amenities that I need, including a Shul within walking distance, a pre-school and elementary school are available.

Although I am not crazy about Miami, it would be my first choice outside of NY due to the fact that it is likely to have the above establishments available to me, and it's only a 3hr flight from NYC which makes it somewhat easier for me to attend business meetings. (vs. LA etc..)

Can anyone here vouch for Miami, and if so, can you tell me if the pre-k and elementary options are good and if the housing costs (in or around the Frum areas) are reasonable, and if those areas are relatively safe?

Definitely move.
You should look into Coral Springs as well. They have a very nice Chabad community there and an excellent school. The closest decent restaurants are in Boca though, don't know if that is a big deal to you.
My brother in law moved from CH to Coral Springs and is very happy there.

...Brooklyn south.
And expensive housing. And unbearable summers.

Miami Beach is very expensive and north Miami Beach is just like as nasty as Brooklyn. Perhaps Boca is better

Though Boca is quite far from great eateries like Rare.

You. will. never. find. everything. anywhere.

Gotta simply make a pros/cons list of the places and see which place wins out.

If you get abducted by aliens, you won't be able to afford an alien lawyer to collect for damages.
