You're waiting for it to be offered to you for $10? What's your point?

I told a friend about the vehicle and he said the price was a bit high and it seems like it was...I wish you luck selling the car.

That's why I lowered the price and wrote OBO.

Look, I'm entitled to ask for what I think it's worth. If someone is interested and wants to negotiate we can do it by PM.
This is what I was referring to. It was somewhat overpriced and a friend of mine purchased a vehicle before the price was reduced....let's not make an issue about it. I'm ok with the price now, but not in the market of buying. Good luck selling the car, it looks really good.

$1000 less then the market value is not crazy if you really want to get it off your hands. Don't see why I should care what you think it's worth. I rather rely on Edmonds or experts. No hard feelings but what you think is kind of irrelevant. Of course you can put whatever price you want on it and your entitled but don't see why anybody would take your feelings into account.

According to Edmunds posted previously, my car, which is in excellent condition, is worth $7,780. Offering me $5,000 is low balling. End of story.

First of all I offered $5500  ;). 2nd of all the excellent condition is yet to be determined, so take off $780 until then. Now were down to $7000. I would estimate about $500 worth of work, which then brings it down to $6500. Hence my offer of $5500, which is $1000 less then my market value. Of course if its in excellent condition as you say and it doesn't need a dollar worth of work i stand corrected and will up my offer, but that's usually not the case. There is always a filter or leak etc that has to be changed/fixed. Same goes for the condition, always a scratch or a little tear or smudges, any of these things would take it out of the excellent category.

+1 try taking the car to any expert and they will not rate it as excellent...a car that's 7+years old more than single owned is not likely to be in excellent condition.

Edmunds values it at $7,700, I'm willing to sell for $6,500. I took the car to my mechanic, he said the car is in great condition. The only "flaw" is minor dings on the rear bumper.

P.S. If you're not interested in purchasing it, please don't try to "bargain" with me here to lower my price.

Okay, I went down 3k. Price is now $5,500 firm. I'm not desperate so I will not go lower than that.

Also, the car will be available a week after a down payment is made on it.

General note to potential buyers: when buying a car car from an unknown private party, the smartest way to do the deal is in cash in exchange for the car and clean title after having the car checked to you're satisfaction. Otherwise, of the seller gives the car aftet a down payment, the buyer can fail to complete payment, and if the seller holds the car they can fail to deliver.
