When we moved here, we found an instructor who gives you a lesson on the way to the test, so you can take care of both of them in one shot.
The lesson is 20 minutes top.

Do you still have his info?

I am curious to know how the rental places will know who has a valid license, as they don't stamp passport anymore. So anyone can claim he was out of the country for more then 3 month last time?!

even if you can manage to fool the rental car company into thinking your most recent entry was after being out for 3 months (by leaving the country twice, 3 months apart, and showing them the exit visa card from your first trip and the entry visa card from your second trip)...
being that you're driving without a legal license, wouldn't that mean you're not covered by the insurance?

When the rental car company will rent me a car, will they start asking how long I have been out.... How can they rent, if they have no prrof, that the license is valid?

For insurance purposes, its like having a suspended license. There is no way for the rental company to know, so they have to go based on what they know. The driver won't be covered if he is in violation of the law

I heard that in Yerushalayim people usually fail the fist try. I called a guy in Beit Shemesh, he said 110 for the lesson and 500 for the test.
I hope to do it next week. I'll report back.

Forgot to update. After all the paperwork run around I used this guy. Let's just say I didn't do all that well on the test, but he does have a 100% pass rate so...  ;)
