Moshe? I tried to start the paperwork before I left but then the misrad rishui went on strike...go figure...how much did it cost you at the end of the day everything included? thanks!
I think the eye test cost me 50 shekel, 138 had to be paid at the post office, the lesson and test was 610 together. The license itself is was 25.50.

that's 823.5...could be worse...when you renew every 6 months...what fees need to be paid again...just the 25.5? You don't need to go thru the whole process again do you?

according to the knesset website there is no agreement yet as to how the law should be worded. i would not worry about it just yet

is this true?

There may have been another small charge for the tofes yarok, but I don't remember.

To renew, you just have to go down to the misrad harishui to get the new paper and pay 25.50 again.

Yea, you don't have to wait on the long line. There is a small line when you first walk in that you go to. Takes about 20 min instead of 2 hours.

Took about three weeks, but purim was in middle. When I gave Moshe the tofes yarok, he told me I would have my test within 10 days.
It's the paperwork that's annoying, you have to first go to misrad harishui to get an ID number. Then you have to go to malcha mall to get the tofes yarok and eye test, the your Dr. has to fill out part of it, then you have to go back to the misrad haisui to get it stamped. Only then can you give it to the instructor to schedule your test.

Do they look to fail you the first time on the test ? In Manchester a lot of people get failed the first try.

From what I hear they do look to fail you, that's why I used this guy. He has a 100% pass rate.  ;)

they dont look to fail you. the whole reason they require an actual test now (as opposed to a few years ago) is because the russians starting playing games with fake licenses. they just want to make sure you really know how to drive

has the knesset made any progress with this? has it become the law that “כניסתו האחרונה” – כניסתו האחרונה לישראל שברצוף לפניה שהה מחוץ לישראל שלושה חודשים רצופים לפחות.
