Hopefully they'll still allow stopovers on RT awards as they do now.
But then again AA got rid of the stopover when they went to one-way awards so UA might as well.

I'm sure that will be the case.
The question is whether they will still allow stopovers on a RT. AA doesn't.

It will be nice to be able to fly one-way with OneWorld and back with Star.

Yup, that would have come to use many times in the past. If only UA miles were more readily available or were a transfer partner with MR/*W...

If COUA will have one-way awards with no Starnet blocking expect their value to catapult. Especially once AMEX MR no longer transfers to CO next October.

And if there is no one-way awards, starnet blocking, UA's routing rules etc. the value may plummet.

UA routing rules may stay, but I don't see why UA would launch OW awards now only to abandon them.
And CO management expressed much disdain towards Starnet blocking, and with the new United being run by nearly all former CO top management I personally don't predict that Starnet blocking will be a part of the new United.

In other news the one-way announcement will actually happen on Monday, along with an even better announcement, that UA will allow changes to *A itineraries even after departure, as CO does now.

Obviously they could go down in value, but those are my educated guesses.

I spoke to CO and they said they believe the one ways will taken over.

AA's system of splitting each way when there is a 24+ stop is quite horrible.

Dan, if you can refrain from posting messages that increase* the prices of mileage, it would be nice.

SPG's prices have been artificially raised on DD, and should not be worth over 2 cent. At least not to the insiders.

(telling that by hotel nights they have over 2.x cent value isn't relevant, as you could say the same about airline tickets.)

I have a lot of all miles in stock.

I think we can agree that Star Alliance is the best Alliance for award tickets.
So who do you think in Star Alliance will be better than COUA?

Air Canada? With their fuel surcharges on their own metal, miles that expire regardless of activity, maximum permitted mileage, and horrible TLV rates?
USAir? With their myriad of redemption fees lobbied on all award tickets, horrible agents, more expensive TLV rates? Or maybe you like not being able to make changes after departure?
Lufthansa M&M? With their $$$$ fuel surcharges?

Okay, i think we should make a good comparison chart.

US Airways agents, as much as Ive heard bad about them served me in average much nicer then the CO ones working on commission (=complicated itineraries don't interest them, as in the same time they could have booked 3 other flights).

USA - Europe in F with AC = 35k less miles than CO. (who needs their metal)

US Air far east - europe in F = saving 60k miles compared to CO

BMI charges way more money, but incredibly few miles on a lot of routes.

On DD it seems that paying $50 more is worth 15k more miles.
